About Center for Translational Neuromedicine (CTN)

The Centre for Translational Neuromedicine develops new ways to study and treat neurological diseases, focusing on physiology, imaging, cell and gene therapy. The aim is to replace neurons and glia in the brain and spinal cord for disease modelling and treatment.

The centre comprises three research groups working on stem cells and translational therapy, astrocyte function and blood flow, and neuron-astrocyte interactions. Together they are advancing the understanding of brain diseases as glial rather than exclusively neural.
